Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

The original recipe for this sauce started as one from a Pioneer Woman cookbook but over time it has morphed into a smaller batch with a few less ingredients. We love this sauce!



Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey

  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage

  • 1 jar marinara sauce

  • 28 oz can crushed tomato

  • 1 small can tomato paste

  • 1/2 cup broth of choice

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 3 bay leaves

  • 1 teaspoon each of dried oregano and dried thyme

  • 1 tablespoon dried basil

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 teaspoons salt

  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon pepper


Directions:

  • Brown and drain the meat before adding to the slow cooker.

  • Add all other ingredients, stir to combine.

  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Remove the bay leaves before serving over pasta.
